the language(s) of insects

DSC_0857_20160828162640268A (presumably) English speaking neighborhood butterfly perched on our  (surprisingly) French speaking 70 gallon Toter trash container. (That’s a “wheelie bin” to some of you.) In whatever language we use every day, we are instructed to keep the lid closed. Good advice, really, especially on a hot day in August.
