a tiger in the zinnias


One of the classic phone camera butterflies, a tiger swallowtail. This one is old and canny, with notches in his wings. He led me quite a chase, taking 15 minutes in the hot sun and a couple dozen exposures before he settled within range if the sidewalk. It’s like he knew that I don’t have step-in-the-flowerbeds rights in this garden. But it was all for the sake of the arts.
