omar sharif

Movie lovers (and bridge players) were saddened today to learn of the death of Egyptian actor Omar Sharif.  Although he acted in French and Arabic as well as English and worked to great acclaim around the world for many years, he’ll be remembered by most readers of this blog for starring roles in two of the great American screen epics of the 1960s, Lawrence of Arabia and Dr. Zhivago.  omar-sharifAnd, of course, by anyone who admires a brown eyed handsome man for being an absolute and total dreamboat.omar_sharif
