minicomics live 4– post 22: page 1 pencils

steamingpool-page1-inkHere’s the cover– I felt free to go ahead with it once I figured out how to ink a cactus.  I actually really like this fine line method.  The little blots along the left side of the main trunk (if a cactus has a trunk) aren’t my fault.  Yet another newish Rotring EF sketch pen has developed intermittent pressure problems and it’s really starting to tick me off.  But that’s off topic.  This drawing has a lot of good things going on it, primarily in the category of rocks.  Those are some pretty nice rocks.  The shoes aren’t so good, but I’m not sure what to do to fix them.  I could give them laces, but that might get too fiddly.  Right now, I’m thinking about it, and taking a late lunch since I’m now officially half done with these preliminary inks.

Umm, there’s nothing wrong with the shoes. Those are “Pam Bliss” shoes

  2. Pam Bliss says:

True, and very kind of you, I’m sure. But I can’t help thinking they look boring or too small or something.
