I’m home at last from SPX, with a notebook full of new ideas and a lot fewer comics in the Luggage, which is still standing locked in the corner of the living room. I had a good time and learned many things, not all of them comfortable. But if you stop learning the hard lessons, you stop swimming, and that’s when you sink and drown in the very medium that gives you life– that’s the law of the shark. Wise storytellers are coelacanths instead, pausing to contemplate in out underwater caves and coming out ready to swim some more.
Or something like that. If you haven’t figured it out, I’m really tired. But I do want to thank everyone I met at SPX for stopping by the table (or wherever else I met you), and for stopping by its online equivalent here at kekiongacomics.com. Tomorrow, back to work!
